I conducted research via Google Forms with 6 participants to identify challenges users face when budgeting to save for a goal.
Persona
Arjun Verma
Arjun is a young software developer eager to advance his career by taking online courses and certifications. However, living in Delhi with high rent and daily expenses makes saving difficult. He’s highly motivated but feels frustrated when unexpected costs slow down his savings. Arjun needs an app that helps him save consistently and shows him how close he is to achieving his educational goals.

Goal: Arjun wants to save money to fund advanced online courses and certifications to enhance his skills.

She’s tried different budgeting apps but feels confused by too many options and concerned about data security. Priya needs a simple app that helps her save for her dream home.

Many users struggle to save up for specific goals, such as a vacation, due to a lack of structured planning and easy-to-use tools. Design an app that help users save up for a goal (such as a vacation).
The Home screen centralizes data, letting users track goals and updates.
The home screen displays the total bank balance with a color-coded chart for each goal, upcoming instalments in a scrollable card view with direct payment options, the user’s most interacted goals in a card view and recent transactions starting with the most recent.
The My Goal screen lists active, paused, and completed goals in a tab view.
This tab view section lets users track active, paused, and completed goals, with the option to click on any listed goal to view its summary and track instalments. It also includes a CTA button for creating new goals.
The Bank screen provides all bank-related information, including bank balance, upcoming instalments, and recent transactions.
Here, users can view their bank balance, directly add money to a goal, or withdraw funds from a completed goal. They can also track upcoming instalments and recent transactions.
The New Goal screen is used to collect data for creating a new goal.
Here, users enter the necessary details to create a new goal, such as title, duration, and saving amount. The screen includes various input fields like text fields, drop-down menus, and a calendar.

This screen displays a goal summary and allows users to track their instalments.
Goal completed card.
The completed goal card appears on the Home screen once a goal is completed.

Conclusion
Working on this project was a rewarding challenge. Major lessons included the importance of attention to detail and a thorough understanding of user pain points to create a seamless and functional product.
